Location
Anadolu Neighbourhood
Programme
Housing, 11 shops, gym, art studio
Open spaces
Market square, playground, residents’ courtyard
Connection
Youth Centre ↔ Sports Club

A public spine linking the Youth Centre to the Sports Club.

This urban regeneration complex in the Anadolu neighbourhood responds to the area’s commercial, social and cultural needs. A commercial axis connects the nearby Youth Centre and Sports Club, lined with spaces for sport and culture, 11 shops, a gym and an art studio.

An open square answers the neighbourhood’s need for a market, while a playground and a courtyard reserved for residents make the project a neighbourhood focal point — one that strengthens social life, not just trade.

Commercial axis

Neighbourhood and urban context

The Anadolu neighbourhood mixes many social and commercial uses, yet lacks a strong public link between them. The Youth Centre and Sports Club next to the site show the area’s sporting and social potential, while the missing market square and the demand for shops point to the need for a new public focus.

Commercial axis / public link

Building on this, the project grows from the idea of a public and commercial axis between the Youth Centre and the Sports Club. Shops, the market square and sports and cultural uses are gathered along it, forming a continuous public spine where different groups of people meet.

Courtyards and open spaces

Site · Programme · Layout

The axis starts as a single line drawn between the Youth Centre and the Sports Club. Bridging terraces between the blocks and the courtyard stairs carry that line up through the floors.
